“I double-dog dare ya” was just one of many childhood taunts that some of you may remember. I remember this one because it usually got me in a lot of trouble.

I suspect it is still being used in one form or another by kids even today. The adult version of that is to say, “I challenge you….to do this or do that.”

In his wonderful book, GOD’S BEST SECRETS, Andrew Murray has the following to say about confession:

“Confession means that you not only confess your sin with

shame, but also that you hand it over to God, trusting Him

to forgive you for it, to take it away, but also to deliver you

from any power it can have over you.”

And you know, it is the darndest thing, HE WILL.

So, 'I double-dog dare ya' to confess any sin in your life that is keeping you from the relationship with God that both you and He want and then pray the prayer that King David prayed to God after he confessed his sin with Bathsheba.

“Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a

steadfast spirit within me.” (Psalm 51)

Why not? Just imagine. It could be the most important “double-dog dare” you ever accepted.

OH! REALLY? Hmm...
