ALL THAT MATTERS

Our lives abound with situations in which ‘all that matters’ is what we have done or not done up to a particular point in time.

The SAT we have to ace to get into college; the exam we have to pass to get into medical school; the race we have to win to get the Gold Medal; or, no prior’s when we are being suspected of a crime.

Our lives also abound with noise, with countless distractions that we allow to keep us from focusing on what we have told ourselves matters most.

There will come a time in each of our lives when we will look back over our lives and thank God that His Holy Spirit helped us to not only sort through all the noise, through all the distractions, and know what matters most, but to help us remain focused on it.

And what is the “it”?

“It” is to “love the Lord my God with all my heart, with all my soul, and with all my mind. And to love my neighbor as myself.”

OH! REALLY? Hmm…
